Description
Name: The name's Aquaria Atlantica Little, but that's almost as bad as C.A.Cupid's mouthful of a name, so A.A. works or just Aqua. No matter how you look at it, my mum was pretty pretentious in naming me. Bleh.
Parent Story: The Little Mermaid
Age: 17
Alignment: Royal; I don't have a choice, since I have to get my memory wiped of becoming a human, I guess.
Room mate: Not a clue! Can't wait to find who it is.
Secret Heart's Desire: Never really considered it! I guess I look forward to being a human for realsies. It doesn't count now.
My "Magic" Touch: I'm easily the best swimmer at Ever After High.
Storybook Romance Status: Sometimes I just can't take my eyes off Hopper. I mean he's a frog, I'm a fish... we'd go so well together!
Oh "Curses!" Moments: Whenever some of the netting on my legs or hands tears or goes missing, my fins reappear. It's kind of an issue since it just looks so odd, and if I lose them, it gets a little hard to breathe air. I'm used to breathing water.
Favourite Subject: Grimmnastics; I love our swimming lessons. Crownculus is more fun than it should be.
Least Favourite Subject: I kind of hate Princessology? I just can't get the knack of any of it; the human things are just so fairy fascinating! It's hard to focus when all these human things are around me.
Hobbies?: Cooking. Mostly eating what I cooked.
About A.A.Little's Design
So sometime last week I FINALLY got a job and decided to celebrate with this overly designed project. She's kind of an OC for EAH and kind of not. Mostly just an excuse, since I don't think the Daughter of the Little Mermaid will ever show up for two reasons: one, the whole first time meeting and becoming human" thing is in her story and second, the titular mermaid dies at the end of her story, becoming seafoam. I think A.A. was born out of said seafoam. Anyway, I spent about three days on her shoes alone, so the rest of it I guess kinda looks boring xD There was to be more when I designed her in my head, but I just didn't want to overdo it. My one regret is that she looks like Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire, due to her hair over her shoulder and the blue skirt-thing around her waist, and that the blue in her hair is close to Maddie's. Sigh. I just wanted a bright blue-green colour. The skirt... thing, is meant to represent her tail. It was supposed to have long ruffles towards the back tip but I couldn't make it look nice. The skirt-thing is also supposed to resemble a fishbowl. The sash around it represents the top of the tail. The fishnets on her hands and legs go where any fins of hers would go. I was going to put stuff caught in it like starfish and shells and plastic fish buuuuut I didn't. The starfish on her chest isn't real.
Her shoes were fun and the very first thing I did. The lobsters are supposed to represent the fact that in the original story, the Little Mermaid bleeds when she dances and that walking hurts her. The bottom, along with her bodice, are seaweed, and the main part of her shoe is obviously based on a fish. The upper part is a clear plastic, designed to look like a tidal wave, and the white seafoam coming from the clam shell is right up against her skin and holding her shoe on. Her heel is supposed to be like her crown, designed to look like it's made of coral and covered in barnacles and tiny shells.
Her design, as you might guess, borrows a little from Princess Ariel, but for the most part, I did this without inspiration from her. The only thing I took from Ariel was the sail skirt. The shell bra is used by lots of mermaid characters. It doesn't borrow from Kida (intentionally). Mostly, I just made up her design as I went.
Her hair I just went in and said "I want to do something weird" and literally just made it up as I went. I let what was down sit like waves. The colours represent the sand and the sea.
And about A.A.Little herself
I like to think she's very rough-and-tumble and really klutzy. She loves sweet things and cooking and I think she secretly enjoys gardening. She's good friends with Ashlynn and her best friend/"pet" is a seahorse named Neptuna, or "Tuna" for short. She can understand what sea creatures and other animals associated with water say. Aqua carries a spray bottle on her person because she hates being too dry. She's really touchy-feely, and constantly curious and prone to wandering off or spacing out.
